I’m a seminarian at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and at part-time IT worker in Boston. I have a particular love of Theology and New Testament text criticism and this blog will be me working these things out… kneading them.
Rambling, clippings, and side-notes that are interesting to me.
At that time Jesus declared, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children; yes, Father, for such was your gracious will. All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him. Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
-Matthew 11:25-30
I think life should be more like tv. I think all of life’s problems ought to be solved in 30 minutes with simple homilies, don’t you? I think weight and oral hygiene ought to be our biggest concerns. I think we should all have powerful, high-paying jobs, and everyone should drive fancy sports cars. All our desires should be instantly gratified. Women should always wear tight clothing, and men should carry powerful handguns. Life overall should be more glamorous, thrill-packed, and filled with applause, don’t you think? Then again, if real life was like that, what would we watch on television?

I feel that both are “fruitful” theologians and Christian thinkers/writers. I don’t agree with all of their public statements, but I can see from their work that they are trying to get at the same Christ that I am. In a way, they are like fellow travelers with me; we’re all talking about what it will be like when/how/why we get to our destination and what we should be up to while on the journey.
