Thinking ahead, to tighter income
Currently I’m a fairly successful IT Analyst/Engineer, but in just a few months I’ll be going to graduate school and will not be nearly so fiscally safe. Reading the article “Surviving (and thriving) on $12,000 a year” made me think about the fact that existing on a fixed income is as much a mental change as it is a fiscal one.

It was an interesting article. Have I told you about the book Your Money or Your Life by Joe Dominguez and Vicki Robin?
But what do you think about her giving to the church while simultaneously taking charity from a food bank? It struck me as somehow problematic, but perhaps I am mistaken.

Yes, you’ve recommended it, as a matter of fact it is on my reading list! I should promote it to the top considering where I’ll be shortly.
As for her giving to her church, I think that it is very important. I’m sure that the widow who gave the copper coin received food from the kindness of others (and aren’t food kitchens something like gleaning, a la Ruth?) Just a thought.
