so it’s been a long time since i’ve made an appearance on this blog.
i’ve hardly taken a photo in five months except for one day of inspiration in November. it was one of those good days. i even met a Gloucester photographer, got to see some inspiring work and received a bit of feedback myself. what other kind of day would be more inspiring to keep going but i just don’t have it right now. i want to make art but currently photography seems too easy, at least the way i’m doing it. of course i believe that good photography takes work, time and talent but really anyone can take a photo. with the event of the digital it’s easy to take pictures, sometimes too easy. so i feel as if i’ve forgotten how to take a good photo. on that day in November i shared that i was a graphic designer and got an “ahh, i can see that in your photos.” i was told i have an eye for composition; that my photos don’t have to be in color, that’s not the important part about them. but do i want my photos to look like they were taken by a graphic designer? right now the answer is no. some days i think i should just embrace it and keep shooting because i do love photography. but mostly i just want to make art, take good photos and i don’t know how to move on and improve from this point.
so perhaps you’ll see some of my photos. but for now you’ll probably hear about design and photography from others that i find inspiring. if anyone has stuck around, i thank you. here’s to a new year and new questions and hopefully some new directions.
